With over a decade of experience in family wealth legal services, Shumei has held senior roles at top-tier trust companies, private banking headquarters, and boutique wealth management institutions in Shanghai. She has served hundreds of ultra-high-net-worth Chinese families, specializing in the legal structuring of family wealth succession, tax optimization, and family governance planning.
She has hands-on experience in the end-to-end design and implementation of a wide range of trust products, including equity-based family trusts, cash trusts, insurance trusts, and special needs trusts. She excels at integrating legal, tax, and governance frameworks to help clients achieve stable intergenerational wealth transfer, risk insulation, and the preservation of family legacy values.
Shumei holds a Chinese legal practice license as well as multiple financial professional qualifications, including certifications in banking, securities, insurance, and futures. With a combined legal and commercial background, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her practice.
She is currently an Affiliate Member of STEP Canada (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), and is committed to delivering compliant, professional, and efficient cross-border family wealth solutions for global Chinese families.
